My Defining Moment

When deciding a career, a hobby, a life path, we all have our defining moments. I have always been obsessed with images, but really, who isn’t? But that moment, that work of art that comes up and smacks you in the face and says- YES!! This is it! This is your life path! Your defining moment.

The moment I saw my vision come to life, the response on social media, I knew in that moment, I was going to take this a step further. I knew I wanted to take my photography outside of the family boundaries. To share my love for this art with the world, and let me tell you, that is NOT easy!! Digging through every resource to learn, online classes, groups for learning, and practicing settings, I was learning ISO, F-stops, aperture, and shutter speeds. What DOF was and how to achieve it. I wanted to take my vision, what I can see both with my eyes and with my mind and turn it into a story. A story I could share with all of you.

With persistence, the right teacher and tools, I intend to tell a story every time. To create a digital painting and reveal it and to share the smile on your clients face is beyond rewarding. Knowing that you helped capture their moment, their story. Anyone can hold a camera and point and shoot, but to learn the art has been a journey I am so happy I started!

Sometimes seeing your own work is tough, you only see the bad. Sometimes you only see how proud you are of the work only to find that others dislike it. It is not a career for the faint of heart, it takes determination, perseverance and just some thick skin to hear the good, the bad and the ugly. When you hear how amazing something is , it can soar you to the clouds. Especially in the beginning, be your defining moment.
